Why do I need photography for my brand?

For most businesses their visual brand is defined by the pictures that they share. It has been shown that your customers engage more with a message when it is paired with a photo.

Often customers will look for tells in images to give them cues to understand your brand. If they see young and vibrant imagery it is a calling card that your brand will be the same. If they however see rushed, unpolished or poor imagery they will associate that with your image.

Putting your Brand in the image.

Start by asking yourself these four questions.

Who are my target customers?

What is the value that my product or service can deliver to them?

How can we convey that message?

Where do we reach that customer?

Once you have defined specific answers to these questions you can start to build the look of your brands imagery. Brand photography is a collection of images that targets the answers to all of these questions.

Things that we consider when creating your brand photography.

What images are already connected with your brand?

We take a look at what you have shared in the past and what your customers have had the most exposure to. We want to create consistency in your brand, so by starting with what you have already had created we can develop your brand's story. We also want to learn from the success and mistakes that you have already made.

What colours, places, or people make up your brand?

Once you have decided who your target audience is we start defining the sort of imagery that will engage that customer. We build colour palettes for clothing, spaces and locations.

Choosing the people to photograph with your brand

We ensure that the people who we photograph are either, connected to the brand, aspirational to the audience, or recognisable to your audience. This is why big businesses use celebrities in their images. A marketing technique called social proofing means that when we see that people who we trust, admire or identify with. Choosing or recommending a product or service we are more likely to make those same choices. Creating a unified look and feel for your brand.

When all of the above factors are considered we can start to create images that tell a story. Your brand will have a consistent look and feel. A message that is communicated from your social media posts through to your products and packaging, can be created using brand photography.
